TrackMyMoney privacy policy
What the app stores
- Your Google account's name, email address and account id, after you sign in. They stay on your phone and identify your ledger and backups.
- Your ledger: accounts, categories, people, transactions, notes and amounts, in an encrypted database on your phone.
Bank SMS (Android, optional)
If you turn on Bank SMS, the app reads bank, card and payment messages on your phone to suggest entries. Messages are parsed only on your phone; they are never uploaded, shared or sold, and are not included in backups. Turn it off any time in You → Bank SMS.
Google Drive backups
With backup on (the default), the app saves a copy of your ledger to a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive. The app can't see your other Drive files.
AI answers (optional, Pro)
If you turn on AI answers, the app sends our server a Google sign-in token, the question you typed, and the names of your categories, accounts and people. Your entries, amounts, notes and balances never leave the phone. Questions are read by Google's Gemini model on Vertex AI and are not used to train models.
Sync between phones (optional, Pro)
If you turn on sync, your ledger (accounts, categories, people, transactions, notes and amounts) is stored on our server so your other phones signed in to the same Google account get the same ledger. It is sent over HTTPS, kept only for your account, never shared or sold, and never written to logs. Turning sync off stops sending; Delete all my data erases the server copy.
